Its been a while since I've added anything to this page...and a lot has happened! My sister organized a fund raising bike run among the children in her neighborhood. The efforts of these children, including my niece and nephews, netted over $800 in support of the Big Ride.
While the rides' focus was on raising money for a great cause the REAL motivation to get the kids to ride 20 miles was food!
Friends and family have rallied around and their support has really helped my efforts. Training has been going okay but my riding time will suffer as the end-of-the-school year priorities are addressed.
One additional, rather unfortunate, event occurred just hours ago; my mother, one of my insprirations for this ride, fell and broke her hip. We are all very concerned and hope for the best as doctors evaluate her condition.
